Project Challenges

A moving company’s website carries a specific kind of pressure — visitors are often comparing several providers at once, and hesitation is the default until trust is established. Before optimising anything, we needed to understand where that hesitation was likely showing up:

Trust Has to Land Before the Ask — In a category where people worry about hidden charges and unreliable crews, reviews and reassurance need to sit close to the call-to-action, not just somewhere on the page.
Multiple Contact Paths, One Decision — With phone, WhatsApp, and an on-site quote form all available, the challenge was making each path clear rather than letting them compete for attention.
One Form, Several Service Intents — Household shifting, office relocation, vehicle transport, and storage all route through similar contact points, so the form needed to stay simple without losing relevance for each service type.
Mobile Behaviour Under Time Pressure — Most visitors are searching and deciding on mobile, often while comparing options quickly, so tap targets, form length, and load speed all directly affect whether they follow through.
Visual, Image-Heavy Pages — Photos of real moves help build trust, but only if they don't slow the page down enough to lose visitors before they reach the CTA.

Project Results

The approach centred on reducing hesitation at each point a visitor could drop off, rather than changing the site’s look for its own sake. Work delivered as part of this engagement included:

Conversion Funnel Audit — Reviewing the path from homepage to quote request and call, identifying where friction or unclear next steps were likely costing conversions.
Above-the-Fold Review — Assessing how quickly a visitor could see what Urban Relocate does, why it's trustworthy, and how to act, all without scrolling.
CTA Hierarchy & Placement — Clarifying the roles of call, WhatsApp, and the quote form so each felt like an intentional choice rather than competing options.
Trust Signal Positioning — Moving reviews and credibility markers closer to key decision points, so reassurance appears right when hesitation is most likely.
Form Experience Review — Assessing field structure and flow on the quote form to reduce unnecessary friction without losing the information needed for an accurate quote.
Mobile Usability Pass — Checking tap targets, button placement, and page behaviour specifically for mobile visitors, given how much of the traffic in this category is mobile-first.
Page Speed & Media Review — Assessing image-heavy sections like the move gallery to keep pages fast without stripping out the visual proof that builds trust.
Testing & Tracking Setup — Putting in place the analytics and testing groundwork needed to validate changes with real visitor behaviour over time.

Project Summery

Urban Relocate already had the ingredients that build trust — real reviews, a clear process, and a comparison against typical movers — but CRO isn’t about adding more content, it’s about making sure the right piece of reassurance shows up at the right moment. The focus was on the path a visitor actually takes: landing on the homepage, weighing whether this mover feels reliable, and deciding whether to call, message, or fill out the quote form.

Rather than treating call, WhatsApp, and the quote form as three separate features, the goal was to make the choice between them obvious depending on how a visitor prefers to reach out. Alongside that, trust markers were positioned to appear before the moments of hesitation, not after them, and the site’s mobile experience was reviewed closely given how much of this traffic arrives ready to decide quickly. The result is a site built to convert the intent that’s already there, rather than one that assumes visitors will do the extra work of finding their own way to act.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What does CRO actually involve for a lead-generation website like this?

It means reviewing how visitors move through the site — from landing page to contact point — and adjusting layout, messaging, and form design so more of that traffic turns into calls, messages, or quote requests.

02 Does CRO replace the need for SEO or paid ads?

No. SEO and paid ads bring visitors to the site; CRO makes sure more of those visitors actually convert once they arrive. The two work best together rather than as substitutes for each other.

03 How do you decide what to change first?

By identifying where visitors are most likely dropping off — typically around unclear calls-to-action, buried trust signals, or friction in the contact process — and prioritising the changes likely to have the most impact.

04 Will CRO change how the website looks?

It can, but the goal isn't a visual overhaul. Changes are made where they support clearer decisions and easier action, not for the sake of a new look.

05 How long before CRO shows measurable impact?

Some changes, like clearer CTAs or simplified forms, can show a difference fairly quickly. Others take longer to validate properly, especially where ongoing testing is used to confirm what's actually working.
